US Voluntary Recall of Chinese Baby Legs Socks

On December 23, 2010, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission and BabyUnited LLC jointly announced a voluntary recall of Chinese-made baby leg warmers or socks.

The products recalled this time are BabyLegs infant leg sleeves, knee socks and socks, all of which are heart-shaped decals in powder, white and violet colors. The leg cover or socks are sold throughout the United States from August to November 2010 and are priced at $11 per pair.

The number of recalled products is approximately 4,500 pairs. The reason for the recall is that the heart-shaped decals on the leg cover or socks can easily fall off. If they are eaten by infants, they are at risk of suffocation. As of now, BabyUnited LLC has received a report of an accident that caused one child to put a decal into her mouth and cause suffocation, but no medical treatment is required.

To this end, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission advises consumers to immediately remove legwear or socks that have been recalled away from infants and toddlers, remove decals to eliminate dangers, and contact BabyUnitedLLC for a full refund or purchase of shopping vouchers.
