Indian cotton exporter took a decision on November 26, 2010

Cotton exporters from Bani Bird in India adopted a decision today to oppose the rise in cotton prices.

In the fiscal year 2008-09, the total exports of Banivia reached Rs. 28.6 billion. Banibert has more than 250 textile export units that export a wide range of home textile products.

A few days ago, the knitwear sector in India launched a campaign against the rise in cotton prices. At present, the cotton exporters of Banibert have also taken the same action.

The Banyback Exporters Association stated that the increase in cotton prices has brought serious commotions to Benny Bird’s household sector, which uses cotton as a manufacturing process. In the past three months, cotton prices have increased by 60%.

The increase in the price of raw cotton has seriously affected the profits of exporters and forced them to trade their products in the form of losses. Buyers are reluctant to end price increases, forcing several export units to close, said a member of the Banybird Exporters Association.

Unexpected increases in cotton prices triggered the closure of 30-35 looms in the household sector in Banibid, resulting in more than 200,000 workers unemployed. These workers are directly or indirectly related to the household sector.

The exporter applied to the Prime Minister to restrict the export of raw cotton, cotton yarn and waste cotton. However, the government did not pay enough attention to this issue. Forced by the government's negative attitudes and challenges, cotton exporters took a decision to shut down their units.

The Banyback Exporters Association once again warned that if the government still does not act and does not take measures to reduce the export of cotton and its by-products, workers already exporting industrial workers will organize in Delhi.
