It feels like we just announced a whole range of new fabrics for Spotlight, doesn't it? Well, brace yourselves—here's even more to look forward to!

These are some of the prints I absolutely adored while designing the collection, and I was worried they wouldn’t catch on because they're large-scale and quite bold. But Spotlight has been incredibly supportive of these designs! I'm over the moon because these are exactly the prints I've been itching to sew for myself.
One of my absolute favorites is the watercolor broken stripe. It's printed on our beloved twill, which is fantastic for dresses, skirts, and jackets. I’m currently working on a dress using this fabric, and I already have plans for a skirt. Unfortunately, I can't share the dress with you yet—it's part of an upcoming Liesl + Co. pattern that isn't quite ready. Rest assured, though, I'll reveal it soon.

We’ve also used that same great twill quality for the rows of dots, available in two colorways. The navy option is undeniably classy, but the bright pinks and oranges are just so vibrant and fun—they almost pop off the fabric!

Then there’s that massive abstract floral print. It’s sateen, so it’s incredibly soft and drapey, making it perfect for women’s apparel. I imagine it would look stunning as either a dress or a tunic. But deciding between the blue/green and pink/orange colorways? That’s a tough call. Personally, I lean toward the green/blue, but everyone who sees it seems drawn to the orange/pink version.

I also adore the windowpane design in sateen—it’s so cute for dresses and tops.

The collection includes several other prints, such as a poplin floral with a subtle textured effect that gives it a unique charm. If you loved our previous sailboat print, you’ll definitely want to check out the new umbrella print and the whimsical cloud print featuring hot air balloons and airplanes zipping through the sky. Oh, and don’t forget about the big dots! They’re calling my name, and I’ll be putting them to good use soon. Choosing between the pink and blue/green options is proving to be another tough decision—I can already picture darling little girls’ dresses, but the possibilities feel endless.

Instagram has been particularly fun—sharing close-up shots of the prints with lifestyle elements really helps bring them to life. I’ve also been testing out some beginner-friendly tutorials to encourage others to try their hand at sewing these designs.
If you’re anything like me, once you see these fabrics, you’ll start brainstorming ideas for every piece of clothing you own. The challenge is narrowing down your choices! Whether you go for something classic or bold, these fabrics offer endless opportunities.
