Mire has been on a creative streak lately, diving into her sewing projects with enthusiasm! She’s decided to showcase three distinct variations of the Tribeca Knit Cami, each one uniquely crafted to suit different styles and preferences.

When Liesl released the Tribeca Cami pattern, I immediately saw its potential as an excellent layering piece. While I’m not a fan of sleeveless tops on their own, they’re perfect for layering under shirts, sweaters, and cardigans. For my first version, I stuck to the original design but made one simple adjustment—shortening the straps slightly. This version pairs beautifully with a cardigan, adding a touch of elegance to my wardrobe.

For my second take on the Tribeca Cami, I got a bit more experimental. Instead of constructing the full garment, I focused only on cutting out the front and back pieces. Since I prefer wearing bras underneath my camisoles, I skipped the built-in bra entirely. To complete the look, I simply sewed the side seams and hemmed the edges. To finish off the neckline and straps, I used fold-over elastic (FOE), which gave the finished product a clean, professional appearance. This version feels snug and versatile, making it ideal for layering during the cooler months of autumn and winter.

My third version took things in a completely different direction. I opted for swimwear fabric and went with version A of the pattern. Given that swimwear fabric is more stretchy than typical cotton jersey, I decided to size down for a better fit. Rather than using clear elastic, I chose swimwear elastic to enhance durability and comfort. This change allowed me to wear the Tribeca cami as a standalone tank top without worrying about it losing its shape throughout the day. The technique used for creating the straps was particularly impressive—it ensured there were no twisted or uneven straps, resulting in a polished final product. I couldn’t be happier with how this version turned out!

Sewing has always been a passion of mine, and these three versions of the Tribeca Knit Cami have taught me so much about adapting patterns to suit personal needs and preferences. Whether you're looking for something lightweight and summery or cozy and insulated, there's a version here for everyone. Happy sewing!
