What is a copper mine?

The cuprite is a red oxide mineral that is soft but heavy. It is generally formed by the weathering of copper sulfides, and the minerals thus formed are called secondary minerals. The copper mine contains up to 88.8% copper and is an important copper ore mineral.

However, due to its small distribution, it can only be counted as a secondary copper ore. The bright copper crystal is very beautiful, and the bright red color gives a diamond-like luster. But if they are exposed to the air for a little longer, they become dim and dark red. Some of the cuprites are granulated or earthy, and they are not so good. Some of the cuprites become loosely intertwined in the formation of crystals. This is called the Maochi copper ore, which is a rare variant of the cuprite.

The chemical composition of the cuprite is Cu2O, an oxide mineral of the equiaxed system of the crystal. The copper content is as high as 88.82%, but its distribution is small, and it is only used as a secondary copper ore. The cuprite is in the form of a cube or an octahedron, or a rhombohedron to form a polyhedron. When growing in the direction of the cube ribs, it forms a hair-like shape or is interwoven into a pile-like shape called a blister copper ore. The aggregate is dense, granular or earthy. The fresh noodles are magenta, diamond or semi-metallic luster. The copper copper ore is usually symbiotic with natural copper, malachite, azurite, limonite, etc., and is produced in the oxidation zone of copper deposits.
