The ISO 22196:2007 surface antibacterial performance evaluation method for plastic products, which was developed by Japan and China, was officially promulgated on July 10, 2007.
This standard is based on JIS 2801 and was submitted to ISO in 2004. It was completed in three years with reference to the opinions of experts from participating countries.
ISO 22196:2007 describes the evaluation methods for antimicrobial plastic products, including intermediate products.
This method is not suitable for evaluating the bacterial reproduction on the surface of plastic products that have not been treated with antibacterial treatment. ISO 846 has given a way to evaluate the bacterial growth of plastic surfaces, and the content of ISO 22196 is different.
Secondly, this standard does not include the effects of antibacterial treatment, such as anti-bioerosion and odor removal. This method is not suitable for proving or evaluating the biocorrosion of plastic articles.
This standard does not cover plastic building materials such as PVC and other compounds.
